The Antwerp museum for contemporary art (M HKA) approached me to design a book to accompany their 2013 summer exhibition The Collection as a Character. It attempts to review their collection on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the museum. Curator Anders Kreuger and I came up with a catalogue that plays with reinterpreted 80s magazine aesthetics, while not giving in to nostalgia. Images play the leading part and construct an organic narrative throughout the book. It contains works of 200 key artists from 1958 to today, portraying an interesting collection that is the result of a quarter century of creative contingency.
